Rappeur Method ManNé à Staten Island, Method Man sort son premier album Enter the Wu-Tang Clan en 1993 avec son collectif le Wu-Tang Clan. Le contrat du Wu-Tang Clan autorise chacun des membres à signer des contrats solo séparés. Method Man signe donc chez Def Jam son premier album solo Tical (1994). En 1995, il enregistre, en duo avec Mary J. Blige, le single I'll be there for you / You're all I need to get by qui atteint la troisième place dans les charts. Son deuxième duo How high, cette fois avec son complice Redman, sort la même année. Il signe également un single avec Raekwon et Ghost Face Killah, membres eux aussi du Wu-Tang Clan. En 1998, Method Man enregistre son deuxième album solo Tical 2 : judgement day puis, l'année suivante, Blackout ! en collaboration avec Redman. Il collabore depuis aux albums de nombreux artistes, comme sur le dernier IAM, Revoir un Printemps. En 2004, Method Man revient
