Rappeuse Eve
Né Eve Jihan Jeffers à Philadelfia (Pennsylvanie) en 1979, Eve est aujourd'hui l'une des rappeuses les plus connu du grand public.

Actuellement il semblerait que c'est la seule femme de son label "Ruff Ryders Records".

Ce "petit bout" de femme hyperdynamique possède vraiment son propre style, qui a été révélé avec la fin des années quatre vingts dix, et peut être considéré comme une sérieuse rivale de Foxy Brown et de Lil' Kim.

Eve a fait ses débuts dans le rap durant son adolescence, notament en faisant parti d'un groupe dans son lycée. Elle fut ensuite Gogo-danseuse, avant de se relancer dans le rap et changea son nom en "Eve Of Destruction", tout un programme !

Elle commença alors à faire des concours de MC dans les clubs de sa ville. Sa carrière débuta vraiment lorsque Dr. Dre lui proposa de signer sous son label Aftermath Records. Il l'aida alors à produire sa première Demo-Tape. Elle contenait le titre : "Eve Of Destruction" qui se fit connaître quand il apparu sur la B.O. du film Bulworth en 1998.

Son contrat avec Aftermath fut arrêté et elle se retrouva alors sans label. Elle eu alors la chance de rencontrer à Los Angeles celui qui allait devenir la grosse pointure du label Ruff Ryders Records, le rappeur DMX qui lui proposa un contrat sur ce label.

Elle enregistra son premier titre avec Ruff Ryders : "What Ya Want" qui figurera sur la compilation : "Ryde Or Die Vol. 1" qui se vendit très bien.

Elle sorti en 1999 son premier album solo qui s'intitulait : "Let's Be Eve... Ruff Ryders 1st Lady" qui se classa numéro un aux tops américains durant le mois de Septembre de cette même année.

Il y avait là, la collaboration de DMX, The LOX et de Missy Elliot.

Le titre "Gotta Man" confirma que Eve devenue une artiste à part entière.

Son deuxième album : "Scorpion" sorti en 2001 sous Interscope Records. Dr Dre a produit quelques titres sur cet album mais on retrouve également Swizz Beatz à la production de quelques uns des titres.

Comme pour le premier opus, Eve s'est adjoint la participation de quelques uns des autres membres du team avec la présence de DMX, Drag-On, et des LOX.

L'année 2002 sera l'année du troisième album solo de l'artiste avec "Eve-Olution" dont vous pouvez lire la chronique ici.
